Day 49. Mareeba.

 Creek we are camped beside.

Mark got cold during the night so out came the blanket.
Went for a walk through the bush in to Mount Molloy.

Little church, St Mary of Magdalene

Thought of our lovely friend from home when we saw all the pretty flowers.
We drove to Mareeba,48kms, to check out a place called Ringers Rest RV Park. It was not for us. Huge open paddock, dry grass and a long way from town on roads we wouldn't ride on. Also felt the man in charge was a little too pushy. So we moved, 11kms, to the Rodeo grounds, closer to town.
We have a powered site, a novelty for us, so I thought I'd make a cuppa 😏. Red dust just finds it's way in. Obviously the underneath of the van is not as sealed as well as you would expect for an outback model. For the $$ we paid I expected a bit better.

Mrs Hubbard was residing in our van. The cupboards were nearly empty, had to make pancakes for breakfast as there wasn't much else. So in to the big smoke of Mareeba to Coles and now the cupboards and fridge looks very healthy.

We had an afternoon of cleaning and maintenance followed by a home brewed coffee. There was way too much light pollution for much satellite spotting but I did manage to spot the International Space Station again tonight as well as 1 other satellite. Way better than watching TV.

As this is all my phone could capture

Today we travelled 59kms hitched taking the total hitched to 4025kms.
The cruiser has clocked over 5,000kms.

For anyone interested I have gone back to day 44 and added photos taken at fruit bat falls with our 'gopro' camera.
