Day 48. Rifle Creek, Mount Malloy.

Today sees us leaving the Cape York area. We will be heading over west to Karumba before heading south for home. Lots to see and do in between so I imagine we'll be away another 4-6 weeks.

Morning visitor, Ozzie

Went for a walk to see the croc sunning himself but he wasn't there. Pleasant walk, although it was starting to get hot, 26° just after 9am.

Croc hunters
Gunther tried to entice the croc with a dead bird but no luck.

Headed off around 9.30.
Road north of Laura is being sealed, which means no more dirt for a few days.
Laura River
    Not much water

Feels like we're back in the real world
Lakeland for fuel and lunch.

From the lookout at Desailly
Coming down the range. You'd think the dude in front would have washed his van.
Free Camp at Rifle Creek. Very busy donation camp.
The red line is what we have completed so far and the green is what we still have ahead of us.

Another great night for spotting numerous satellites including the International Space Station.

Today we travelled 280kms taking the total hitched to 3966kms.
