Day 34. Morehead River.

Today sees us heading back to Lakeland then off up the Cape.  At this stage we have no idea where we will be for the next few days until we get to Weipa. It's been very windy in Cooktown.

Went into Cooktown one more time to fill the tanks beside the reconciliation area.

Black Mountain, covered in black rocks.

Lakeland for diesel and morning tea in the information area. It's still being built. Should look great when done.

Beautiful scenery along the way.  The same paddock from 3 different spots.

Quarry Lookout

Split rock, the climb was a little challenging but worth it.

Tall spirits.

Drove around Laura but nothing caught our eye so we kept going.

Views along the way.

We are camped beside the Morehead River. There are 5 Willow vans here. Lots of well behaved children having a great time.

Tested out the griller tonight and cooked pizza. Had a lovely night sitting around the camp fire talking with the other campers.
The roads haven't been too bad so far.
Today we travelled 236kms.
